Join Johanna Sweet for an evening of poetry writing and discussion.  Annex Arts has invited Maine poet Julia Bouswma to visit Castine this summer as one of its artists in residence.  On August 7, Julia will speak at the Castine Arts Association’s Literary Symposium, and in anticipation of that presentation, this workshop enables participants to share their reactions to Julia’s book Midden, a remarkable collection of poems that explore the Malaga Island tragedy in Maine. The second half of the workshop will focus on composing original work prompted by this collection of poems.

Copies of Midden are available at the library desk. Participants are encouraged to read it prior to the August 4 workshop.
