A “Company Order” from the Militia of Maine to A Company Order from Joseph Palmer (Captain or Commanding Officer) to Timothy Perkins ordering non-commisssioned officers and privates of the company to gather at the “usual place of parade” in town to serve as a guard for the execution of Seth Elliot on dec. 30, 1824. Elliot was convicted of killing his child in a fit o f intoxiction. The order is dated Dec. 25, 1824.
