The Foreign Affairs Discussion Group will meet by Zoom only on Wednesday, September 7, from 5-6pm. All are welcome.

The topic is global leadership and power, specifically what attributes make a country ‘great’ as a world leader and how is US domestic and foreign policy measuring up?  Many views are possible, and first to consider is whether ‘great’ means ‘feared’ or ‘admired and respected’, or both?

For background, the July/August 2022 issue of Foreign Affairs focuses on these questions, and reading any or all of the articles will serve as a baseline for our discussions. If your time is limited, try ‘What Makes a Power Great’ by Michael Mazarr. The Library’s front desk is holding a copy of Foreign Affairs.
