Tuesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm
This year’s hunt features Castine landmarks. You can collaborate with your family and friends to figure out the clues.
How to Participate
- The “clues” will all be released at 10am on the library website www.witherlelibrary.net. A printed clue sheet will be available at the library as well.
- There will be six clues. Once you’ve figured out a clue, go to the location and take a photo of yourself with the secret item.
- Upload your photos using the QR code provided or save them on your phone and bring them to Emerson Hall at 3 pm when we will distribute the prizes.
- This year’s prize is a clay pot that you can paint. Please wear something that you can paint in or bring your pot home to paint later.
The clues are below
For each location, take a selfie with the location or object listed evident in your photo.
- The number tag of any elm in Castine, to know each one
- The entrance to the Adams School native plants garden (west corner of the Adams School playground)
- Crocuses in front of UU church, an early sign of Spring, warmth and growth
- The dock, busy on land and water for humans and other animals
- The granite sculpture at the Wilson Museum, a beautiful place to enjoy the view
- Dyce Head Light, where sea, sky, and land meet. Take your photo with the lighthouse in the background. The lighthouse keeper’s house is a private residence; please respect their privacy.
