July’s featured book is the 2026 Caldecott Award winner, Fireworks, by Matthew Burgess and illustrated by Cátia Chien. The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

This beautiful story follows two young siblings spending a sweltering Fourth of July in New York City as they eagerly anticipate the evening’s spectacular fireworks.
