Who We Are
Meet the Library Board of Trustees
The library is governed by trustees who are Castine residents elected by public ballot for 5-year terms with a limit of two concurrent terms. The Board of Trustees is responsible for library finances and policies. They meet monthly and all are welcome.
Library Staff
A professional librarian oversees the day-to-day operations and supervises the staff. The librarian also works in collaboration with the Friends of the Library and the Town of Castine.

Friends of Witherle Library
Through fundraising activities, the Friends organization finances supplementary activities and services, such as sponsoring literary events and funding improvements to library facilities and resources, for the benefit of Castine and the surrounding communities.
