To celebrate National Poetry Month students in grades 7 and 8 tried their hand at Black Out Poetry; a type of found poetry. Armed with a pencil, a sharpie, and a page from a discarded book a poem takes shape. The poet boxes in interesting words and then eliminates the rest and surrounds the words with an image. You are left with phrases that begin to tell a story and leave you wondering.
Meanwhile our Crafty Wednesday participants have been busy fashioning paper mache birds in hopes of conjuring up Spring and experimenting with acrylic paints to create small scenes on canvas.
