Museum Passes
Witherle Memorial Library has partnered with area museums to offer free passes to patrons. The number of passes can vary by museum; details are provided below.
How to Reserve a Pass
Passes are available by reservation or chance on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are strongly recommended. Please check the museum’s hours of operation before reserving your pass.
To make a reservation please email admin@witherlelibrary.net or call the library at 326-4375. You will receive confirmation by email or over the phone that your reservation is complete.
Loan Time
The library checks out individual cards–each of which is a museum pass–to your library account.
Reserved cards may be picked up the day before your planned visit and will be checked out for two days. Cards picked up the day of your visit will be checked out for one day.
Please help us honor our reservation schedule by returning the cards to the library circulation desk the day after your visit by 5 pm.
Musuem passes may not be renewed.

The Farnsworth Museum, Rockland
Up to Four Passes Each Day
The Farnsworth Art Museum offers a nationally recognized collection of works from many of America’s greatest artists, with 20,000 square feet of gallery space and over 15,000 works in the collection. It has one of the largest public collections of works by sculptor Louise Nevelson, while its Wyeth Center features works of N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth. The National Register-listed Farnsworth Homestead; the Olson House, a National Historic Landmark; and the Gamble Center for Education complete the complex.

Maine State Parks Season Pass
Up to Two Vehicle Passes Each Day
Each pass admits occupants of the pass holder’s vehicle to Maine State Parks and Historic Sites day use facilities*. A 17-person vehicle is the maximum sized allowed for this pass.
*Not accepted at the following locations: Acadia National Park, Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Maine Wildlife Park, Peacock Beach, Penobscot Narrows Observatory, Penobscot River Corridor, Scarborough Beach, Songo Lock or Swan Island. This pass cannot be used toward camping in Maine State Park campgrounds.
