The Witherle Library Foreign Affairs discussion group will meet by zoom on Wednesday, March 1 from 5-6pm. The topic is the possibility of immigration reform, and specifically how immigration could meet the skilled and unskilled labor shortages in the US economy.  Moderated by Barbara Griffiths. All are welcome.

To give a sense of the bipartisan support for reform in the US, the article below describes the efforts of a right-of-center (including far right) coalition to enact a series of immigration reforms during the last Congress.  The efforts failed, but the coalition continues to post the legislative proposals by the new Congress, especially the House, which give a sense of the new extremes.
