It has been a busy Fall and I have fallen behind with my Bookmarked postings about all things reading. Let’s jump start our winter reading by signing up for the Witherle Memorial Library’s Winter Reading Challenge. Winter is the time that I feel like settling down by the fire or under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book, especially when the temperatures dip into the single digits!
Let’s get started. Come by the library or download the challenge by clicking here. I know how many of you are interested in numbers as a way of making comparisons, particularly in who ran the fastest, who ate the most pizza, who is the tallest, and the list goes on. So why not turn our numbers fascination toward reading? The library will ask you to choose one or more categories such as “minutes read” or “number of books recommended”. It is simple: record the numbers in the circles next to each category you choose to accept. Keep track starting January 6th and turn in your record by February 15th to win the grand prize, a hot chocolate machine and all the fixings to make delicious drinks for your friends and family.
Not sure what books to read? We have a number of ideas for you on our Reading by the Numbers Winter Reading Challenge page or come in and talk to me about “a just right book” to start your winter reading.
