Our last hike featured Castine’s very own Hatch Cove. We encouraged families to take this hike and do some journaling and observing the path in the fall.  We will ask you to circle back to that hike as winter approaches and leaves the trail snow covered.  

We encourage you to try out the new entrance that leads into Witherle Woods. This new trail is east of the main entrance on Battle Avenue.  Some of you may have noticed a small opening and a half gate across from Tarrantine Street. While there is no parking at this site it is a sweet trail that is easily walked with children in tow. This walk is roughly 1,500 feet (highlighted above in red) and snakes into the rest of the Witherle Woods trail system.
