DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin us for a series of concerts on Saturday afternoons in 
 April. Co-sponsored by the Castine Arts Association. Light refreshments wi
 ll be served. This event is free of charge and all are welcome. Library Re
 ading Room\n\nThis Saturday's featured artist is Juan Condori who will pl
 ay Celtic\, Bolivian\, Venezuelan and Argentinian plus new compositions fo
 r guitar from US and Latino America and France.\nA native of La Paz\, Boli
 via\, Condori studied guitar and cello at the conservatory of music in La 
 Paz. He was a member of the Bolivian National Orchestra and toured South A
 merica with a Bolivian youth orchestra. Juan met members of the Portland S
 tring Quartet in Caracas\, Venezuela and was invited to study with them in
  Portland\, Maine. He came to the U.S. in 1978 and completed his Bachelors
  of Music in cello performance in 1985. After several years performing and
  touring with Mexican orchestras Juan returned to the U.S. He completed hi
 s Masters in cello performance at Syracuse University in 1988 under a fell
 owship with the Syracuse Symphony. He currently lives in Bucksport and per
 forms guitar in the Bangor area.
